Routine Inspection Guide for Tenants

At Milestone Rentals, routine inspections are conducted approximately every three months to ensure the property remains in excellent condition. These inspections help property owners stay informed about maintenance needs while ensuring a comfortable and well-maintained home for tenants.

Inside the Property

At Milestone Rentals, we encourage tenants to maintain their rental homes in top condition. During routine inspections, we check the following areas:

Interior Checklist

  • Walls & Doors: Ensure walls, light switches, and doors are clean and free from marks or damage.

  • Carpets: Keep carpets clean and stain-free to maintain their condition.

  • Windows & Screens: Windows and screens should be clean and intact.

  • Kitchen: Pay special attention to the oven and stove—keep them free of burnt food and stains.

  • Bathrooms & Laundry: Ensure showers, toilets and tiles are clean and in proper working condition.

  • Accessibility: All rooms and spaces should be fully accessible during inspections.

Outside the Property

  • Lawns & Gardens: Keep lawns trimmed, edged and tidy. Remove weeds to maintain a neat outdoor space.

  • Rubbish Removal: Ensure all rubbish, lawn clippings and debris are cleared from the property.

  • Vehicle Area: Remove any unregistered vehicles and clean any oil stains from garages, driveways or carports.

  • Accessibility: All areas, including garages and storage spaces, should be accessible for inspection.

Interior Checklist

  • Pet Waste: Ensure any droppings from approved pets are picked up and removed.

  • Pet Damage: Repair any pet-related damages and clean up any scattered rubbish.

  • Restraint During Inspection: Properly restrain all dogs to ensure safety during the inspection.
